Mos Def To Speak On Rap and Acting Career In Upcoming Interview

mos defLater this month Mos Def will sit down for a special interview in N.Y. with music journalist, Anthony DeCurtis at Manhattan’s 92nd Street Y, to discuss his hip-hop, acting and political career.

The interview will be held at 8 p.m. on February 28th to an audience of his hometown fans and will give insight into his successful career as a rapper and actor and will additionally discuss his social and political opinions including his thoughts on the role that artists should be playing in the real world.

Mos Def is well recognised in the hip-hop community for his efforts as a solo rap artist as well as for his collaborations with rapper Talib Kweli as part of the hip-hop duo Black Star. He has also enjoyed success within the movie world, being cast for roles in numerous films including, among others, Something the Lord Made, 16 Blocks and The Italian Job. Mos is also set to star in the upcoming film Be Kind Rewind alongside Jack Black and has received a number of Emmy, Golden Globe and NAACP Image Award nods.

Mos Def has openly spoken in response to a number of issues affecting the Black community including Hurricane Katrina and the Jena Six case.
