Despite the fact that Queensbridge rapper Nas appears to be extremely confident that his controversially titled album N*****r will hit the stores with his chosen title, Island Def Jams’ chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid it seems is not so sure.
As previously reported by HipHopsHome.com Nas accompanied by his wife, singer Kelis, rocked a T-Shirt with the word “N****r” printed on the front along the red carpet while attending the 50th annual grammy awards.
L.A. Reid has previously shown his support for Nas and also publicly denied rumors that the rapper would be dropped from Def Jam over his reluctancy to change the album’s name.
However when asked by SOHH if Nas’ new LP will indeed be released under the “N****r” title, Reid responded with, “We’ll have to see.”
Reid also noted that the album which was originally due to be released in December 2007 will now be dropping sometime in the spring of this year, likely April or May.
Speaking on what fans should expect when the album drops Reid said “Expect him to give a point of view that maybe the world hasn’t thought about. Expect him to really enlighten us.”
