Snoop Dogg was cited on Wednesday night (February 20th) for smoking marijuana outside of a unidentified Manhattan nightclub.
According to the New York Post, Snoop’s attorney, Donald Etra, informed them of the incident.
Etra would not identify which nightclub Snoop Dogg was allegedly smoking outside of, and believes the summons was issued in error.
“He did not get arrested. He received a ticket for possession of marijuana,” Donald Etra told the New York Post. “We are contesting the ticket.”
The rapper had his last marijuana related incident with the police in March of 2007 in Sweden, when he along with a female companion were held overnight by Stockholm police, who claimed that they appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.
Snoop Dogg’s forthcoming album, Ego Trippin’, is due for release on March 11th.
