Nas has showed his support for Shaquille O’Neal just days after a video of the NBA star surfaced onto the Internet showing him dissing Kobe Bryant with a freestyle while he was onstage at a club in New York.
“You know how I be, Last week Kobe couldn’t do without me,” Shaq rhymed in reference to the recent loss that the L.A. Lakers had in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.
On his beef with Bryant during his 2003 rape case when Bryant was accused of raping a 19 year old, Shaq had this to say, “I’m a horse, Kobe ratted me out, that’s why I’m getting divorced.”
Shaq ended his onstage performance by saying “Kobe, tell me how my ass tastes?” which resulted in a roar of laughter from the audience that were surrounding him.
During an interview with ESPN’s Stephen Smith, O’Neal downplayed the raps, saying the media blew the rhymes out of proportion.
“I was freestyling, That’s all. It was all done in fun.” Shaq said in an interview with ESPN. “Nothing serious whatsoever. That is what MCs do. They freestyle when called upon. I’m totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all. And by the way, don’t forget, six albums, two platinum, two gold. Anybody who knows me knows I’m a funny freestyler. Check the NBA DVD when I was rapping about Vlade Divac during my first championship run,” he added attempting to downplay the incident. “Please tell everybody [not to] make something out of nothing.”
When TMZ caught up with Hip-Hop artist Nas and asked him for his opinion on the whole situation, “Shaq is my man, f*ck Kobe, Shaq is my man, biggup to Shaq.” he replied.
