Charts: Lil Wayne’s Carter 3 Shoved To No.2, Plies Down 68% To No.5

After selling more than a million units last week in its first week on sale, Lil Wayne’s The Carter III has been pushed out of the way to the #2 spot on this weeks Billboard 200.

The Carter II still moved an impressive 308,505 making it’s total sales 1,317,956, but it was unable to keep it’s #1 position which is this week taken by rock band Coldplay with their Viva La Vida album.

After debuting behind Weezy at #2 last week, Plies grabs the No. 5 spot this week with his Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic records released album Definition Of Real moving 67,700 units, down 68% from its sales last week bringing it’s total to 282,579 copies sold.

Dropping one position to number six this week is Usher’s Here I Stand which in it’s forth week of release moved another 65,000 units bringing it’s total closer to platinum status with 754,255 units sold.

At number 7 this week is R&B singer Rhianna who re-released her third 2007 released album, Good Girl Gone Bad resulting in a sales increase of a whopping 970% to 63,000 copies sold and a jump on the Billboard 200 from number 124. The albums total now sits at 1,307,446.

#20 on the chart goes to N.E.R.D.’s seeing sounds album which moved 23,620 copies and now has total sales of 103,588.

Further down the charts Young Jeezy’s artist, Blood Raw, made his debut on the chart with CTE Presents: My Life: The True Testimony which comes in at #30 on the chart with sales of 17,377.

Universal’s artist, the Florida born 2 Pistols manged to snatch the 33 spot with his debut album Death Before Dishonor selling just short of 16k with 15,764.

Next week will reveal if Lil Wayne will be able to keep the interest in his album high as attention starts to turn to the upcoming releases from G-Unit with T.O.S. (Terminate On Sight), Nas’ Untitled album and The Game’s L.A.X.
