Rappers Create PSA To Encourage The Youth To Vote

In partnership with CPX Interactive, The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network are planning to produce a video public service announcement with the aim of encouraging the youth in America to take part and vote in the approaching presidential election.

CPX Interactive is one of the largest advertising networks globally and along with The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN) they will launch the new campaign, titled Vote For It ’08, on July 9th with the announcement video.

A number of popular Hip-Hop personalities and rappers are set to appear in the video including Russell Simmons, T.I., Snoop Dogg, LL Cool J, Doug E. Fresh, Jim Jones and R&B singer Ciara.

The PSA will be launched on video sharing site YouTube and the official website for the Vote For It ’08 campaign.

It will also be shown nationally on Television from August via Time Warner Cable’s large network of channels which include both BET and MTV.

“While the youth vote increased dramatically during this season’s primaries, there are still 44 million young people unregistered in the United States,” Valeisha Butterfield who is the Executive Director of The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network said. “[We are] pleased to join CPX Interactive for the anticipated launch of the Voteforit! ‘08 PSA. Like CPX, HSAN’s mission to take back the vote resonates loud and clear in the PSA. We are confident that our partnership will help to narrow this margin.”

Vote For It ’08’s website www.voteforit08.org includes information on where and on how to register for the presidential election for each state as well as information on how to become a part of the campaign.
