Obie Trice Reveals More On His Issues With Interscope, Disses Jimmy Iovine

In a new track, Detroit rapper Obie Trice elaborates further on the situation which resulted in him leaving Eminem’s Shady Records and declaring himself a free agent.

In the song which is titled “So Much Drama,” [click to listen] Obie Trice makes it clear once again that he has no problem with Eminem, and says that the two still have “plans.”

“Everybody wanna know his next move, they glued him to the Shady brand / N*ggas don’t understand,” Obie rhymes “I had to take a stand, still cool with your mans / Trice and Eminem got plans.”

As previously reported by HipHopsHome.com, Obie Trice announced that he had departed from the Shady Records label last month via a track called “The Giant.”

Although he did reveal that he had some money related issues with Interscope he refrained from mentioning any real details about the situation.

In this new song Obie Trice not only expresses his disliking towards Interscope he directly targets the labels founder, Jimmy Iovine.

Obie Trice notes that he gave Jimmy Iovine props in the track “Love Me” which included the line “In the Meantime It’s Jimmy Iovine Time” and rewrites it for 2008.

“I just had to branch off Jimmy Iovine and be the rap star / and i’m the first one to put him in a track / so in the meantime it’s gettin’ my cream time.” Obie rhymes.

Having got that off his chest Obie then continues to attack Interscope, suggesting that not enough money went into marketing him.

Obie Trice is at present working on his own label World Wide Hustle and his third upcoming solo album is tentatively titled “Bottom’s Up.”
