A party in New York for rapper Missy Elliott’s 37th birthday turned into a brawl involving makeup-artist Deborah Padilla and choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson.
According to The N.Y. Post, the brawl happened after Deborah Padilla was shoved by a waitress who was attempting to get close to rapper Busta Rhymes.
“The waitress got into it with the makeup artist, then fists flew, there were people crying, bottles flying and Missy trying to get out of there.” A ’spy’ told the New York Post. “It was pandemonium.”
The waitress reportedly said in a police report that during the brawl she had been “hit above the eye.”
Deborah Padilla who recently worked on the reality TV show “Living Lohan” was arrested and then hit with charges of assault.
The party took place at Marquee Nightclub in New York City.
Representatives for the nightclub have refused to comment on the brawl.
Missy Elliott’s upcoming album “Block Party” is due for release in August, Missy says the album has a “sort of U.K. hip-hop sound to it.”

Laurieann was never in the fight but the sad part was that Marqee is black people hateing night club, this not the first time they hit people, but this is the frist time they are being put on blast by all press.

I was there and the party overall was whack. the crowd was mainly white people. Half of which did not know how to dance or the lyrics to her songs! It was a zoo outside and it clearly carried on inside as the night went on. Missy is cool, but whoever decided to throw her a party at Marquee should have known better. Her true fans were clearly not invited and I noticed that when songs were played and people stood around clueless.
