EPMD are gearing up to headline this years 11th annual Black August Hip-Hop benefit concert in New York.

The event, which aims to honor, support and assist political prisoners and freedom fighters, is scheduled to take place at the Nokia Theater in New York at 7:00 PM on August 31st.

Hip-Hop artists who have performed at the concert in the past include Talib Kweli, Common, dead prez, The Roots and David Banner among others.

Last years show had a huge turnout and was dubbed a success, tickets were completely sold out days before the event even took place.

The concert managed to raise more money to help and support political prisoners than they had ever achieved before and they hope that this year will be just as successful if not more.

This year in addition to EPMD, Immortal Technique, DJ Marley Marl, Bilal, DJ OP, Black Moon, Rakim, Smif-n-Wessen and others will take part in the event.
