Hip-Hop duo Mobb Deep are attempting to sue their former manager claiming that he authorized the use of their songs on a compilation album without seeking their permission.
According to TMZ, Mobb Deep claim that Norman “Purfek Storm” Bell used 28 of their previously unreleased songs to create a double disc album titled “The Infamous Archives.”
Documents obtained by TMZ state that songs, images and trademarks were illegally used for the 2007 released album and it’s artwork.
The New York group comprised of Havoc and Prodigy, claim that Norman Bell now owes them more than a million dollars in unpaid royalties.
The documents say that Bell’s acts were “Intentional and Malicious” and that they damaged Mobb Deeps “On-going contractual relations with record labels, distributors, publicists and radio stations.”
Norman Bell was not able to be reached for comment.
