The Game Denies Dissing Eminem And Proof In New Leaked Song

A track called “My Life” [Click here to listen] which features The Game rapping alongside Lil Wayne recently surfaced onto the Internet and caused a bit of a stir.

Rumors have been running wild over the possibility that The Game disses Eminem and the late D12 member Proof in a verse of the song in which he raps:

“You see them 24’s spinning, I earned ‘em / and all the pictures of me and Em / I burned them / So there ain’t no proof I walked through 8 Mile / And so since it ain’t no Proof, I’ll never walk through 8 Mile.”

Shortly after the track surfaced on the Internet a second version without the Eminem/Proof reference was leaked and appeared to come from Interscope records themselves.

A representative for Interscope then subsequently released a statement which says that the original version will not appear on the album, it also included a statement from The Game in which he explains that he did not set out to diss anyone.

“When I originally wrote the song ‘My Life’ I was trying to think back on events that affected my life and how they changed me,” The Game explained. “When I first got signed to Aftermath and G-Unit I was exposed to so many different people from [Dr.] Dre to Em[inem] to 50 [Cent] to Proof. I always identified with Proof. We were always cool and he would reach out to me when ever I was going through something.”

As for his relationship with Detroit rapper Proof, who was shot and killed in April of 2006, The Game said he had always identified with him and did not mean for his comments to be interpreted in a negative way.

“I remember when Proof died vividly and now every time I think about going to Detroit I get depressed.” The Game explained. “That is what I was trying to say in that verse and the more I looked at I realized that people would take it the wrong way…the way they are taking it now that it leaked.”

He then explained that he recorded the new version of the track to avoid people getting the wrong idea but that the original version had leaked before the re recorded version.

“I decided to change it so that this bullshit wouldn’t happen and now it’s happened anyway.” he said.

The Game also confirmed the comments made by an Interscope rep that the first version of the track would not appear on his upcoming album “L.A.X.” and that a music video for the second version will be released in the near future.

“For the record, this is not the version on my album, this is not the version that radio will get and this is not the version that I just shot the video to, Furthermore, I apologize to anyone who took this the wrong way as that was never my intention.”

The Game’s “L.A.X.” is currently scheduled for release on August 26th.
