Trina and the NBA Player Kenyon Martin were involved in a car accident in Belize late on Friday night in which two children were injured.

The accident is reported to have happened just after the pair arrived at the Airport in the country, which they were visiting to attend a Hip-Hop themed peace rally and a star studded charity basketball game.

Trina and Martin were backseat passengers in a Ford Excursion which was travelling along the Northern Highway with a police motorcade, when their SUV collided with a green minivan.

A Witness to the accident said that the whole event had left him shocked and horrified.

“As we were coming down from the airport trailing behind the vehicles we see the white car that Trina and Kenyon Martin were travelling in was cutting across and the same time a green van came and they hit each other and they went straight across and one of the children nearly came out of the vehicle because of the impact,” explained Raymond Martin who witnessed the incident. “It was very very hard and horrifying and hmmm, I still left stunned right now.”

Some witnesses said that Trina and Martin’s SUV along with the Police motorcade was dangerously overtaking other vehicles at speed along what was a narrow road, others say that it was the size of the motorcade on such a narrow road which caused the most problems.

George Abraham who was driving the minivan during the collision suffered from minor injuries however his two sons aged 9 and 12 were more badly injured.

“I was on my right hand side and this vehicle overtake on this side,” George Abraham told Belize’s Local 7 News in an interview. “That guy was in the wrong in that vehicle. I was on my correct hand. ‘Ahh my shoulder.’”

Police are currently investigating the incident and are looking into the reports surrounding the motorcade.
