The King Of Crunk, rapper/producer Lil Jon, has announced a new business deal with digital distribution company, The Orchard.
As HipHopsHome.com previously reported, The Orchard recently acquired Lil Jon’s longtime recording home TVT Records, and as part of the new deal Jon will be released from his contractual obligations with TVT making him free to sign with another label.
“I walked into The Orchard and came away with the sweet taste of freedom! Others talk, The Orchard does.” Lil Jon said in a statement. “I expect to do great things with them, and look forward to my future.”
Lil Jon will also be given full rights to the master recordings of his upcoming solo album “Crunk Rock” and The Orchard will get the exclusive rights to re-release previous recordings from Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz.
As part of the agreement Lil Jon will also record new tracks for The Orchard, which will be included with the re-released albums.
Lil Jon will work with the company and it’s upcoming artists to supply A&R and production, he is also in talks with them about the possibility of extending the lifetime of their relationship to include future projects.
No release date is set for “Crunk Rock” as of press time.
