Items of Jewelery that were once worn by artists Tupac Shakur, 50 Cent, Nas, Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., Lil Wayne, Diddy and Kanye West among others are set to be auctioned off for charity.
The Jewelry will be sold through a partnership with the auction house Phillips de Pury, with a portion of all profits going to Hip-hop mogul Russel Simmons’ non-profit organization, Rush Community Affairs.
Approximately 50 items will be sold at the event including Tupac Shakur’s diamond, ruby and gold ring which has the words “Pac & Dada 1996” engraved into it, revealing the secret relationship that he once had with Kidada Jones, the daughter of music pioneer Quincy Jones.
Also for sale will be a multi-colored diamond encrusted eye patch set from Slick Rick, and a famous gold/diamond pendant with the words “Crunk Ain’t Dead” from the king of Crunk, Lil Jon.
Other items up for grabs include Jewelery from LL Cool J, Mary J Blige, Lil’ Jon, Busta Rhymes, Gnarls Barkley, Missy Elliot, The Diplomats, Biz Markie, Swizz Beatz, Pharrell Williams, Ja Rule, Wyclef Jean, and MC Lyte.
The Jewelry will be open for public viewing between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m from September 22nd to the 30th with the actuall auction, dubbed “Hip Hop’s Crown Jewels,” currently scheduled to take place on October 1st in Lower Manhattan at Phillips de Pury Company’s office.
