Marion “Suge” Knight has been arrested on charges of assault and possession of illegal drugs after he had an altercation with his girlfriend in the early hours of Yesterday morning (August 27th).

Police responded to a call and subsequently arrested the 43-year-old co-founder of Death Row Records on a street near the Las Vegas Strip.

Suge Knight and the woman were arguing in a car which Knight was driving when he reportedly became violent and proceeded to punch her in the head.

“The victim purposely grabbed the steering wheel and caused the vehicle to hit the curb,” Police said of the woman’s reaction.

Reports say that Las Vegas police received a call about a vehicle striking a curb. When they responded to the call Suge Knight was discovered standing over the woman on a street with a Knife in his hand.

“He did not stab her,” said a department spokesman, Jacinto Rivera. A search of Knight which was conducted by the police also revealed the drugs ecstasy and hydrocodone on his person.

Knight was hit with numerous felony charges including domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possessing dangerous drugs without a prescription.

As of press time neither Suge Knight or representatives for the mogul have given comment. Reports claim he is still incarcerated on the domestic violence charge.
