The currently Incarcerated DMX was reportedly extradited to a Phoenix, Arizona jail on Friday (December 19th).
The multi-platinum selling rapper was transferred from the Miami-Dade County Jail in Florida, to the new location in Phoenix where he will face various charges including those of animal cruelty, marijuana possession and Identity theft.
DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was captured by the FBI in Miami earlier this month (December 9th) when he was staying at the home of Hip-Hop producer Scott Storch.
Just a day before he was arrested, Joe Arpaio – a Phoenix Sheriff – offered a $5,000 dollar reward for any information leading to X’s capture. A woman from Georgia subsequently responded by alerting officials to the rapper’s location.
The charges against X are the result of a raid at his Arizona home earlier this year. Cops seized twelve Pit Bull dogs, some of which were reported to be dehydrated and malnourished. They also discovered remains of other dogs buried in the grounds of the property as well as Marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The charge of identity theft against the rapper stems from an incident in which he used a false name to avoid paying a medical bill.
A judge has ordered that the rappers bond be increased due to the fact that he has failed to appear at a number of court dates previously.
DMX is currently being held in Arizona on $120,000 cash bond.
